This Privacy Policy explains what personal information the AzStore mobile app and the AzStore online store collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. It applies to the AzStore app on Android and to our website at https://store.azstore.app. Depending on which version of the app you installed, some features described below — such as location-based store search or in-app advertising — may or may not be present; where behaviour differs, this policy says so.
The data controller responsible for your information is Sell Bitz LTD, Flat 3, 508 South Circular Road, Rialto, Dublin 8.
1. Information you give us
- Account information. Your name, email address, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see or store your password in readable form), and phone number where you provide one.
- Sign-in with Google or Apple. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from them a confirmation of your identity, your email address and, where released to us, your name. We never receive your Google or Apple password. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature, we receive only the relay address Apple generates.
- Order and delivery information. The items you buy, order totals, shipping and billing addresses, the delivery method you choose, and any note or instruction you add to an order.
- Profile and personalisation photos. If you upload a profile picture, or attach your own photo to a personalised product, we store that image against your account or order.
- Booking and rental information. If you reserve an appointment or rent an item, we collect the dates, times, item or service selected, and any details you supply for that booking.
- Loyalty programme information. Your points balance, points earned and redeemed, and the transactions those points relate to.
- Business account information. If you apply for a wholesale or business (B2B) account, we collect your company name, business address and tax or VAT registration number where applicable.
- Communications. Messages you send us through in-app chat, email, our contact forms, WhatsApp or social channels, including product reviews and support tickets.
- Marketing preferences. Whether you have opted in to newsletters or promotional notifications.
2. Information collected automatically
- Device and diagnostic information. Device model, operating-system version, app version, language and region, and crash reports including the technical state of the app at the moment it crashed. This is processed through Google Firebase Crashlytics and helps us fix faults.
- App usage analytics. Which screens are opened, which features are used, general in-app events, and order/purchase totals for reporting purposes, processed through Google Firebase Analytics. This is tied to an app-generated analytics identifier rather than to your name.
- Search history. Products or terms you search for in the app, used to improve search results and app functionality.
- Push-notification token. When you allow notifications, the operating system issues a device token that lets us deliver messages to your device. We store this token so we can send you order updates and, if you have opted in, promotions. Depending on the app version, this is delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging and/or OneSignal.
- Location, where the store-locator feature is used. If the app you installed includes “find nearest store” and you choose to use it, we ask for your device’s precise location (GPS) to show nearby stores, or you can instead type a postcode or place name, which we send to a mapping service to look up its coordinates. We only access your location while you actively use this feature, and only after you approve the in-app permission prompt.
- Network information. Our servers record standard technical logs such as IP address, request time and user agent, which we use for security, fraud prevention and diagnosing faults.
- Advertising identifier, on app versions that show ads. Some versions of the app show ads through Google AdMob. Where this is enabled, AdMob may collect an advertising identifier and app-interaction data to select and measure ads, subject to the ad and privacy consent choices you make when prompted in the app.
3. Information we do not collect
- Card numbers and payment credentials. Payment details are entered on the secure hosted page of the relevant payment provider. The app does not store, log or transmit your full card number, CVV or bank credentials.
- Voice recordings. On app versions with a voice-search feature, your speech is converted to text by your device’s own operating system. We never receive, upload or store an audio recording of your voice.
- Background or continuous location. We only ever access your device’s location while you are actively using the store-locator feature described above, never in the background, and never on app versions that do not include this feature.
- Camera images beyond QR/barcode scanning. The camera is used only to scan loyalty and rewards QR codes. Scanned frames are processed on your device to read the code; we do not store or upload photographs or video from your camera through this feature.
4. Why we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and keep you signed in securely.
- To process, fulfil, ship and invoice your orders, and to manage returns and refunds.
- To manage rentals, appointments and bookings you make.
- To operate the loyalty programme, gift cards and any discounts or wholesale pricing you qualify for.
- To show you nearby stores when you use the store-locator feature.
- To send you transactional messages — order confirmations, dispatch and delivery updates, booking reminders, password resets and security notices.
- To send you marketing messages where you have opted in, which you can stop at any time.
- To answer your support enquiries.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To measure and improve how the app and store perform, and to fix crashes and bugs.
- To show and measure ads, on app versions where advertising is enabled.
- To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where data-protection law such as the GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (creating your account, fulfilling orders, rentals and bookings); legal obligation (tax, accounting and consumer-law record keeping); consent (marketing messages, push notifications, location access, advertising, and optional analytics where consent is required in your region); and legitimate interests (securing our service, preventing fraud, and improving the app), balanced against your rights.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to run the store, and only for the purposes described here:
- Payment processing partners. Depending on your country and the payment method you choose, your payment is handled by one of our payment providers — which may include card and wallet processors and regional bank or mobile-payment providers. They receive the information needed to take the payment, such as the amount, currency, order reference and the billing details you enter on their page, and they handle your payment credentials under their own privacy policies and card-industry security standards.
- Google (Firebase) for analytics, crash reporting, push delivery, sign-in and remote configuration. Firebase receives device and diagnostic data, app-usage events and your push token.
- Google AdMob, on app versions where advertising is enabled, for selecting, delivering and measuring ads. AdMob receives an advertising identifier and app-interaction data for this purpose.
- Push-notification providers. We deliver notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging and, where enabled for this store, OneSignal. They receive your device push token and the content of the notification.
- Mapping and location-lookup providers, on app versions with the store-locator feature. This may be OpenStreetMap (via its Nominatim search service) or Google Maps depending on which mapping provider this store currently uses, to look up coordinates for a typed location or display nearby stores on a map.
- Google and Apple where you choose to sign in with those accounts, and for app distribution through Google Play and the App Store.
- Shipping and delivery carriers, who receive the recipient name, delivery address and contact details needed to deliver your order.
- Live-chat and messaging providers, including WhatsApp where you choose to contact us or place an order that way. Messages sent over a third-party messaging platform are also subject to that platform’s own privacy policy.
- Email and SMS delivery providers used to send order and account notifications.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who store the store’s data on our behalf under contract.
- Authorities, regulators or legal advisers, where we are legally required to disclose information or need to establish or defend a legal claim.
- A buyer or successor, if the business is sold or reorganised — in which case we will tell you and your information stays protected by this policy or an equivalent one.
7. Payments
When you pay for an order, the app opens the payment provider’s secure hosted payment page. Your card or account credentials are entered there, transmitted directly to that provider, and are never handled or retained by the app. We receive only the outcome of the payment, the amount and a transaction reference, plus, in some cases, the last four digits and card brand so we can show you which method was used.
8. Notifications
We use push notifications for order and delivery updates, booking reminders, and — if you opt in — offers and promotions. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, or from the notification setting on the Account screen in the app. Turning off marketing messages does not stop essential service emails such as order confirmations and receipts.
9. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. Order, invoice and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law in Ireland — typically 6 years. Support conversations are kept for 90 days. Analytics and crash data are retained according to the provider’s retention settings, currently 14 months. When a retention period ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
10. Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete — you can also edit much of this yourself under Account in the app.
- Delete your account and personal data — you can do this yourself at any time from Account > Delete Account in the app, or from our web page at https://store.azstore.app/account-deletion/, which does not require the app or an active login. Deletion is completed automatically once you confirm the request by email.
- Export your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, including revoking location or advertising permissions from your device settings.
- Complain to your local data-protection authority the Data Protection Commission (Ireland).
To exercise any of these rights, email info@azstore.app. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
11. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Authentication tokens are held in the operating system’s protected storage on your device and are cleared when you log out or delete your account. Access to customer data by our staff is limited to those who need it to do their job. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
12. Children’s privacy
Our app and store are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@azstore.app and we will delete it promptly. Purchases must be made by someone who is legally able to enter into a contract, or with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
13. International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including where our hosting, analytics and payment partners operate. Where information is transferred out of the EEA, the UK or another region with transfer restrictions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app and our practices change. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will give you notice in the app or by email before it takes effect.
